Akira Yamanaka Architects (AYA) is a London-based chartered architectural design studio. Akira Yamanaka, the lead architect, has extensive experience, especially designing sustainable housing, schools and community/assembly buildings. He is a member of the RIBA and a Certified Passive House designer. AYA’s current projects include an energy-efficient house extension in London and two housing schemes in Reading. AYA has a long-held interest in sustainable architecture with the integration of the emergent digital technologies in the design process. The aim is to create sustainable, adaptable and delightful human environment. Environmental accountability and collaborative design approach are the core of our design ethos. The practice has been designing architecture, urban and art-installation designs by upholding these core values.
