UK NZCBS Design Alignment Tool

The UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard (UK NZCBS) Version 1 was launched in March 2026, and includes endorsement of the Passivhaus standard as deemed to satisfy relevant requirements at practical completion. Passivhaus offers a route to better net zero buildings, grounded in minimising operational energy demand and peak load, prioritising health and comfort, closing the performance gap, minimising whole life carbon, and optimising renewable generation.

To support design teams in assessing alignment with UK NZCBS, PHT members DeltaQ have developed a new PHPP plugin. This tool helps map UK NZCBS requirements at the design stage, providing a low-risk approach to achieving net zero outcomes – something Passivhaus is particularly well-suited for.

This plugin builds on DeltaQ’s previous UK Metrics alignment tool. We are launching this as a BETA version covering just homes and schools initially to gather feedback. Feedback is invited at .
